Simple Anti-aging Skincare That Works.

Prevent, protect, and preserve is what you need to remember for your anti-aging skincare routine. Whether your skin is dry, normal, or oily, it’s advisable to keep your skincare routine simple. However, ensure it is effective because the only thing that guarantees you are getting the most out of your effort is using skin care products that work.

Select Skincare Products That Deliver Results

Since there are millions of anti-aging skincare products in the market with endless promises for younger and better skin, take it upon yourself to research extensively into the products you are about to purchase. Look out for the ingredients listed in the skincare product and how they may affect the skin. It helps you to protect your skin and pocket from time wasters.

Ensure to have products that are easy to use. If a product requires you to spend 5 – 30 minutes working with it, there are chances that you might abandon it due to time constraints. Another step to take with your skincare routine is to give them time for you to notice results. Therefore, as mentioned before, you can start by shopping for products that deliver results.

The steps below are core practices for an anti-aging skincare routine to get beautiful skin.

Cleansing

Get a good cleanser that will remove dirt and makeup without being too harsh on your skin.  You can adopt the 60-second rule by working your face cleanser thoroughly yet gently on your face and neck. It ensures that your face cleanser does its job. Finish by rinsing your face with lukewarm water. Once in a while, you can exfoliate your skin to get rid of dead skin cells.  This step is most beneficial for oily skin.

Skin Toners

Applying a skin toner is not a compulsory step in skincare but can be very helpful if you experience issues such as acne, dark spots, blemishes, etc. Skin toners are applied immediately after cleansing the face during your skincare routine. There are different types of toners in the market e.g., hydrating/moisturizing toners, exfoliating tones, anti-aging toners, etc. For example, you can benefit from an exfoliating toner if your face is oily or textured with large pores. Anti-aging toners can help keep your skin radiant and healthy, while hydrating toners can benefit dry skin. Other skin toners help with specific skin issues such as acne, dark spots,  and hyperpigmentation. However, watch out for the ingredient in your toner as some can be more destructive than beneficial, especially those that are alcohol-based.

Do you know you can make your skin toner at home? Try boiling a lemon and water and let it cool. The remedy is an excellent skin brightening and tightening toner for oily skin. Another DIY toner includes diluted fermented rice water.  The vitamin B- rich skin toner and anti-microbial agents are beneficial for sensitive skin.

Anti-aging Skincare and Face Serums

serum allows you to target a specific issue on your skin. It delivers a high concentration of specific active ingredients to the skin. You can use it to improve specific or multiple skin conditions such as acne, dark spots, dryness, dullness, texture, large pores,  hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, dark eye circles, etc.

Ideally, a face serum should be the most effective product in your skincare routine because they inject a higher dose of skin treatment agents that stay on your face than all the other products. Therefore, it is wise to invest in a high-quality face serum. It is also ideally the only skincare product worth splurging on.

If you are using a Naturiste Organic Oils face serums, you can choose to skip your skin toning routine altogether. The reason is that our face serums perform as skin toners too! You simply need to spend a few minutes massaging it gently on the face and you get the benefits of a skin toner and face serum at once.

Moisturizing for Anti-aging Skincare Results

Always include a face moisturizer in your skincare routine. You should not skip this step regardless of your skin type. A face moisturizer is a lotion,  cream, ointment, balm, or gel, formulated with emollients that help to keep your skin moisturized.

The main benefit of a face moisturizer is to keep the skin moisturized and protected. It works by sealing the skin, locking in moisture and nutrients (such as those introduced by the face serum), and protecting the skin from external irritants.

Oily, dry, normal, and sensitive skins benefit from moisturizing. An effective face moisturizer should not cost you a lot of money. There are mid-priced ones that are just as effective as high-end products.

Sunscreen

Equally as important as a face moisturizer is sunscreen. Suncreen keeps the skin young and protected from the damaging effects of UV radiation. Direct or indirect exposure to the sun accelerates damage to your skin which causes skin issues such as brown or dark spots, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, uneven complexion, and can even cause skin cancer.

The best time to apply sunscreen is in the morning or before heading out of the door, ideally after your face moisturizer. Make sure to cover the face, neck, and decolletage as these parts are more exposed to the sun daily
